day 4: surfbabe learns history
started the day early with pearl harbor trip. yes, pearl harbor is in hawaii, in case you didn't know that. we took a bus there and queued up to get our tickets for the video presentation and the tour to USS Arizona Memorial. We walked around the visitor centre to look at the exhibits and learn about the whole incident that triggered WWII.

the pretty rainbow taken from the bus.. yes, a rainbow has 7 colours

my mom and i while queuing for the tix..

the anchor of the ship

the clock stopped short on 7 Dec 1941, 8:06 a.m. when USS Arizona exploded and sank with a crew of 1,177

a Pearl Harbor survivor cum volunteer at the centre
we went to watch a historical video on the whole incident which triggered US to go into WWII. A very touching video i must say, and indeed heart-breaking to see how cruel war is, the cruelty and vulnerability of mankind.. and the bravery

the USS Arizona Memorial, with the flag at half-mast. it is built directly on top of the ship and some of the remnants of the ship can still be seen.

the list of people whom the ship took..

part of the ship that remained..

oil still seeps out of the sunken ship, even more than half a century later.. it is said to be the tears of those who lay underneath..
it was history taught again, and so much better than textbooks. isn't it sad that it is through history where man learns not to repeat his mistake, but it is good to know man can put history behind during everyday-life and different nationalities can exist in peace together..
what an enriching morning..
after leaving pearl harbor, the bus brought us around downtown honolulu for a city tour..

punchbowl national cemetary, where all the heroes are buried..

king kamehameha statue and the state capital..

that was all for the morning, and the sun was still good when we got back, so it's back to the sea!!

walking through the streets on my way to the beach (that's a boogie board by the way, not a surfboard)

going out for my first surfing lesson. it's a cool sport which you can't do here. not that hard, managed to get up on my second attempt, partly also because i was using the biggest and most stable board. the most tiring part of all was paddling out to the sea, because the waves kept coming and your efforts will all be wasted if a big wave comes and topples you or washes you towards the shore.. definitely a good sport for toned arms and tanned body. and gliding with the wind and wave was an incredible experience!!
too bad no photos of me in action because i was out in the sea and the photos the surfing kiost that provided the lessons were selling at 20 bucks for one photo.. madness.
day 3: enjoying Waikiki
didn't plan any tours for the day, so just spent the morning at the beach suntanning, enjoying the waves and playing in the water and afternoon was none other than my favourite... shopping!!
and at night as we were watching tv, slacking around, we heard what sounded like explosions in the far.. yes, fireworks!! really pretty and colouful fireworks that lasted for at least 15 minutes.

if only everyday is like that..
island life.. loving it totally

Day 2: Round Island Tour
disclaimer: all photos are unedited (for the simple reason that there is no need to and i don't know how to)
we've decided to start knowing Hawaii, and O'ahu, which is the name of the island that we were staying on better by going for a round island tour. It's a one-day tour where the bus takes us one whole round around O'ahu, and stopping by significant places for photo-taking and walking around. the bus left Waikiki and went around diamond head and stopped over at hanauma bay, which is a good place for snorkeling, of course, we just got down to take photos and enjoy the beauty of nature..

and i'm just there to blend into the blue background

cute car we saw at the carpark..

see the water coming out from that hole?

the picture say them all.. seems like the nuts do have benefits, but it's like 80 percent fats!!

yes, that's how the raw nut looked like.. yummy

isn't the beach just soooo pretty and surreal??

the cooling and relatively healthy pineapple ice cream at dole plantation.

mutated pinapple??

small and cute one..

more sceneries to see

and the wind was so strong that it felt we're flying!! or rather get blown away

and i got my dose of exercise that day by walking half an hour to the convention centre, to use wireless, only realising i forgot to bring the adaptor, so walk back, get the stuff, and wanted to walk there again. oh well, a big thank you to my lousy sense of directions and wanting to find a short cut, i ended up walking another way at the junction cos there were roadsigns for the convention centre for cars pointing that way. and so, i walked and walked and the signs disappeared, and i just got further and further. i actually ended up in honolulu already, the main town area. in the end i just gave up, turned back and walked..
i think i walked a total of 3 hours!! best thing is during the time i was walking around lost, 2 ppl actually asked me for directions!! do i look local and knew where i was going??

i'm back home, back from paradise and shall update the journal slowly..
day 1: a big ALOHA!!
it was probably the longest day ever, due to the 18 hours time difference and the 14 hours spent in planes and 6 hours at narita airport doing absolutely nothing.
left home in the wee hours to catch the 6am flight to tokyo where the stoning began before another 7 hours plus to honolulu.

yes, i'm bored

and i'm hungry

and i'm sleepy.. yes i'm a pig
and so we waited and waited until it was sunset..

after all that long wait and stoning, we finally arrived in honolulu, at 8am on the same day.. hurhur..
the weather is great, blue sky, white clouds and totally sunny early in the morning. best part is that it is a lot less humid and so even under the same temperature, you don't perspire much. we got into a limo cab which took us to the resort in waikiki where we spent the next week.

the little one in the pretty big limo..
and because the check-in's only at 4pm and we arrived pretty early, we deposited our luggage at the resort and went out to explore the little town of waikiki. indeed quite a small town just beside waikiki beach and people walk on the streets in beachwear, and yes, i mean bikinis and boardshorts only, carrying with them surfboards, beachtowel, mats etc..
had lunch at a japanese restaurant, cos this place is filled with japanese.. went back to the resort after that for our big ALOHA and then a big ZZZZZZZ...

ALOHA with fresh flower 'lei's.. the hawaiian style of greeting..
the rest of the day was basically spent on exploring the shopping centres, beach and planning what to do for the rest of the week...
and although it's only the first day, i know i'm going to love this place!!

Monday, 4 June 2007

ALOHA!!!
greeting from waikiki, omg, i can't believe i'm actually here! it's totally a paradise. the resort which we're staying at is right in the middle of waikiki town, across the road is the main town area cum shopping district. LOTS of beach wear, bikinis, everything you need on the beach and LOTS of macadamia nuts!! and walking through the shopping area is waikiki beach!! surf babes, surf hunks, yes exactly what is seen on tv, in pictures, that is what hawaii is like! ppl walk around the streets in bikinis and surf boards like nobody's business..
today's only day 2 and haven't really gone down to the waters.. more to come.. i can't wait!!

pictures from stong trip. 2 nights spent in the train, 2 days of trekking and playing around in the icy-cold waterfall, and 1 night at the base of the waterfall in tents. it was quite an exciting experience, especially having to carry my huge backpack and climbing up the rocks and forest to reach the campsite. and it took guts to jump into the freezing water and to slide down the waterfall, it was like nature's amusement park.

yep, that's where we went. gunung stong!!

yes, we climbed up the rocks!! exciting but shack, just look at the expression on my face and my big bag!!

we were bored at the train station and in the train. it was an 11hour ride, but we spent most of it sleeping in that little double-decker bed, the rest of the time was spent playing cards.

and we went caving!!

pictures from the trekking and waterfall slides. we tried to catch the sunrise but it was too cloudy..

and we cooked dinner!! pasta with lots of other additional goodies, not too bad, but it wasn't a good idea to cook marshmallows with the stove. most got burnt.
and we brought so much food that we had to try our best lightening the load cos there were no dustbins at the top, and we had to carry all the trash down..
i think my legs got a lot stronger after that 2 days..
this is super outdated... but here it is, let the pictures do most of the talking...
holidays started with programmers retreat to tioman. lots of sun and sea. it was a great escape from the hectic lifestyle here, into simplicity of waking up to the sunrise, enjoying the company of seabreeze and fishes and corals around me.

that's all of us at the resort we stayed..

subgroup and cp and a coconut tree. really cute photo!!

full attendance of my subgroup!! haha the picture says it all.

getting high with cameras on the boat..

tioman sunrise!!

and how can we forget stopping by JB for a feast!! yes i am a pig

gosh, i have never enjoyed an elective class this much before. spent the whole 3 hours yesterday singing. i highly recommend GV 17 to all those who love to sing and want to feel like a superstar. how cool (but freaky) is it to sing on stage, in front of the whole class and with the teacher commenting after every singer and asking the rest for comments. really feels like idol contest. yes, that's what the module is mainly about, singing and listening to people sing. well, there's project and exam but project is to research and comment on any singers and exams are mcq!! i think i'm addicted to it. now i have all the excuse to go ktv!!

Saturday, 28 April 2007

oh my gawd i am a total disgrace to the existance of mankind! I got a shock of my life when i saw reflection in the mirror after my German paper. with eye bags so big due to the lack of sleep, and the double chin, those love handles, 'bye-bye' arms, thunder-wobbly thighs, fat ass, due to all the rubbish i've been ingesting, like one jar of nutella in 2 days(?!?!?!) and the super blemished skin, thinning hair, plus the oversized t-shirt and folded jeans, basically nothing pleasant to look at... yes, i'm ugly!! it's really time to do something about it.
alright, today marked the end of uni year 2 with the most stressful paper ever. but instead of walking out of the exam hall with joy, knowing that the worse is over, i felt more lost than anything, not knowing what to do for the rest of the day, the holidays, and just kept wondering is everything worth it? all the time spent mugging, the tears and blood shed, the damage done to my body with all the nights, the binging in comfort food, the dependence on caffeine, which seem to have lost its effect, the mess in my room, and the neck-ache cos i have been sleeping in the chair. and i do hope my mom won't get a shock when the electric bill comes. yes, all these for just 2 and a half hours and my mind never fail to go blank when i stare at the paper, and with my ability to spot the wrong questions and what's more MY BLARDY PHONE ALARM WENT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAPER EVEN THOUGH MY PHONE WAS SWTCHED OFF!!! yes, WTF!!!!!!!! beware when you put your alarm as 'ring everyday' and 'auto power' on your ss phone.
yes i should just be expelled from school, sometimes i really wonder if i regret taking this course, now that the course is getting so popular that interviews are conducted, my 2 cents worth of advice is, really, think carefully. 5 years of your youth put under extreme levels of stress, with a lifetime of uncertainty after you graduate. if i were given a choice... i want to start with year 1 again, cos i think i've wasted 2 years, ending up with miserable results that may even have a problem getting me a job next time.
alright, can someone pull me out of the state of depression.......
it's time to get back to normal life. sleep and eat properly!!

just when i thought how meaningless my life is, it came across to me i should be thankful i have the ability to even complain. just last sunday when i was going home from work (which ended at 12 midnight!!) i saw this girl collapse on the ground at the telephone booth. initially i thought she was crying so hard, perhaps due to some groundshaking news received over the phone. as i was quite a distant away, i just walked past and didn't think much. but as the car drove past her, the 2 banglars stopped the car and asked if we knew how to speak chinese. apparently, the china girl was on the phone with her friend when she suddenly collapsed on the floor and they couldn't communicate with her friend, who was on the line, in chinese.
and so i immediately got out of the car to check on her. she was sitting on the ground, with her hands were clenched over her chest and was gasping for air. i tried taking to her, asking her what's wrong but she seemed too breathless to say anything. and so i picked up the phone and asked her friend what was wrong. her friend sounded so relaxed and told me it's ok, she has a weak heart and just get a cab for her and send her home. hello?? your friend is here uncontrollably gasping for air, it may be a life and death matter...
at that point of time, i thought of 2 things to do, one is to call the ambulance and two to call my doctor, hopefully he will still be around, since i just ended work about ten minutes ago, and see if she can get any professional immediate medical attention. but she insisted she's ok, and reassured us that she just need a bit of time to catch her breath. well, she looked a lot better than a few minutes ago, at least she could talk and move, so we just sat with her and made sure she was ok. i felt so useless, as a pseudo medical student and a sinseh-to-be, i couldn't do anything to help her. and seeing that she was a lot better and had people to attend to her, the 2 banglars left (not that i'm a racist). one of them said something like "although you are not s'porean, but you're still human.." i think she was lucky they were there to give her immediate help.
after sitting down for a while, she was a lot better and i found out that she was a student at np and she had a weak heart, on long-term tcm medicine. and this happened before but it was the first time in s'pore. perhaps because she hasn't been taking the medicine regularly recently. we sent her home after that. hope she's ok..
sigh... yes, i have seen right before my own eyes, tcm is indeed effective. but i'm starting to doubt the value of education. i am sure education has thought us to help and care for one another. but isn't that something that ought to be innate. i am pretty sure the 2 banglars are not highly-educated, probably just workers on work permits, but they tried their best to help, and only left when she was a lot better and we said we'll stay to look after her. perhaps the old saying of 人之初,性本善 is indeed true. and what has education done when undergrads point the gun and take lives of so many innocents?
yes, there's really more to life than studying and grades..

Saturday, 21 April 2007

if there's going to be a parenting workshop or some parenting 101 course, the first thing that should be taught is...... how to make your kids SHUTUP!! why do parents think it's very cute of their irritants shouting and screaming and disturbing everyone else?! don't you just feel like stuffing cotton into their mouth or something? alright, i think i'm just so not destined to have kids, not like that's on my list of things of concern now...
and i think caffeine has a dual purgative action. besides being a diuretic, it also has laxative effects....
And must i mention how boring and monotonous it is to study for the last paper? it's just a matter of time before i totally give up, and that always happens on the day before the paper itself. sigh...
well, at least yesterday i finally did what i have always been wanting to do, heh, no regrets yet.. and i finally had a good 6 hours of sleep on my bed..
It was really saddening reading the front page article of today's wobao, on the increasing number of people who opt out of HOTA, and on how some people are just living everyday waiting, for the day that they might get a matching organ for transplant, some even taking desperate means just for that glimpse of hope. And so many are depriving them of that hope.. why?? I don't know if it was coincidential, but i was reading the article on the train-ride to HSA to donate blood. Don't ask me what made me travel all the way to do it, but somehow i just had to do it. I think everything in me, my organs, my blood etc are worth so much more than i am worth. sigh.. i am just a good-for-nothing.. oh well, i still certainly believe there's more to life than just studying and getting a good grade. So what if you're the most intelligent, richest, most knowledgeable person in this world when all you can do is lie there and wait for death to take you away. And do take everything in me, especially my immune system, which makes me almost impossible to fall sick. And do leave my brains behind, they are useless...
Alright, give me the right to be depressed and be impulsive, like how I am today... Gosh, i guess I'm really tired, my head feels like it's going to fall off my neck anytime...

Tuesday, 17 April 2007

nobody likes me, everybody hates me, i'm gonna eat some worms......
i think my presence at home is a total disaster for everyone. i can never be more distracted by my lappie and the things around me, not forgetting food and the bed!! hence, efficiency = zero. and my mom is totally making a big fuss and can't wait to kick me out of the house because i never fail to mess up the room and deplete the food supply at home. and i can never exist in total peace with my dad without snatching the internet connection or the toilet, especially to bathe in the morning, and my sister is just can't stop talking!! and when she starts screaming either because my mom scolds her for watching too much tv, not practising the piano properly, not sleeping, not eating properly, or when she gets in my way and what not... that's it man.... noise pollution!!! and i am positive that the electric bill for this month will be high, with me leaving the laptop, lights, radio, aircon on the whole night.... yes yes mommy scream at me!!! she even told me to find a job or do something constructive this holidays, do anything but stay at home!!
bah.... sucks
and i have gone insane to go swimming at 9pm with no lights in the pool (are they trying to save electricity??? hello, we're paying for it..) and just went to run a 2.4 this morning at 6.30am!! and how can i forget studying on the cross-trainer machine or the bike in the gym...
hmmm i think i am crazy enough and i shall be.... hahahaha

why am i letting my mood take over me again??
just when i thought today would be quite a good day, considering the fact that i actually shut down my laptop, swtiched off the lights and went to bed last night, and waking up feeling rather refreshed this morning. and from then on, everything seem to have gone wrong. had a close encounter with a stray dog early in the morning when i was jogging in the dark, half blind as usual. i was just 1 meter from it when i realised it was a dog. i just stopped short and froze, for that split second, i didn't know what to do, and was so scared that it would attack me. luckily for me, i think it was more scared of me and just scrammed away. phew.. and then the morning traffic and long wait for bus took me an hour and a half to reach school!!
and of course, school totally sucked. can't help getting stressed out by everything and everybody around me and the good old me just accidentally pulled out the buttons on my shorts in the middle of class and had to use a clip to keep my shorts on me. bleah...
i was already trying very hard to control myself not to scream at people in the library this afternoon, after the stressful day and when you had once again disappointed me. i couldn't find a better way but to delete all your messages from my inbox and blast music into my ears...
yes, tomorrow shall be better...

taken from wiki, there you go...
Narcolepsy is a neurological condition most characterized by Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS). The main characteristic of narcolepsy is overwhelming excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), even after adequate night time sleep. A person with narcolepsy is likely to become drowsy or to fall asleep, often at inappropriate times and places. Daytime naps may occur with or without warning and may be irresistible. These naps can occur several times a day. They are typically refreshing, but only for a few hours. Drowsiness may persist for prolonged periods of time. In addition, night-time sleep may be fragmented with frequent awakenings.
People with narcolepsy may dream even when they only fall asleep for a few seconds.

Thursday, 5 April 2007

i think i seriously suffer from sleeping disorder. not insomnia, but the opposite. I've never failed to amuse myself at the ability to sleep anytime, anywhere, not forgetting my daily routine of dozing off in class even if i sit in the first row.. and for the past 2 days my bed has been used as a dumping ground for all the things that i don't want on my table, and my most convenient place for sleeping is no other than the chair. and last night i've done the most classic. i decided to take a break and did some pushups to boost my energy level. and so after 20 miserable pushups i lay on the ground, initially just for a stretch and relax, and yes, I FELL ASLEEP!! face down, flat on the ground! i am good lor. luckily my mom didn't come into the room, if not she might have thought i fainted or something.
i have been and i am trying, not to think about things and to be good to myself. i've given in to the fact that there's not much time left before the papers begins. it's definitely not good to have so many things clogged up in my mind, so much so that there's no space for important stuff.
but it's hard, almost impossible. i can't help but to let my mind wonder and drown myself in confusion and agony. why why why???? it's just too wrong...

Sunday, 1 April 2007

i really did try to sleep early and wake up early last week, it was like catching the 12am sleep and hopefully waking up early enough to get something constructive done. but it was a half failure. i did sleep at around 12 but my alarms just fail to wake me up early. just yesterday i was reading this month's shape magazine on the importance of adequate sleep, such as to keep off those extra pounds, improve memory, good skin, reduce risk of diabettes, heart problems etc etc. 8 hours of sleep a day? that's almost an impossibility for me, 8 hours in three days seems more like it. and now that the car pool service has ceased, i think i have to wake up at 5.30am for my daily morning run, gym and to gueue for the bus and reach school on time for lessons...
i think i am just an exercise freak who will feel uneasy for not doing something physical everyday, especially running.
if only we could run away from all the complications in life, not letting them eat us up and only adds misery to life.

Monday, 26 March 2007

what a sunny sunday, and how could i forgo the chance to soak up some sun. went for a long run before baking myself in the midday sun. it has been quite a while since i ever did a sunday long run, and it sure felt good, like i could go on forever. only tanned for an hour under the scorching sun, but it didn't seem to help me get rid of my ugly tanline. wanted to spend the afternoon revising and doing work, but after lunch, i went back to my room, took out stuff to do, switched on the aircon and i just wanted to lie down for a while on my bed, but before i knew it, it was already 4.30!! almost time to go for work. so there goes my sunday... nice, but guilty.
shall post up some MR500 photos, there's hundreds, and maybe going to be thousand over photos when i get everybody's.. i totally miss MR...

pictures of me in action, yes i am the drummer-by-default..

victory cum handover dinner, i officially don't hold the keys anymore

ntu(c) the people whom i spent the whole weekend, and probably my most enjoyable times in ntu with..

the guys..

the girls..

my batch - the year 2s

the year 1s

the year 3s

spent my friday night in hall with the new exco initiation night. lots of alcohol, lots of drunk people, merlions, and fun. we talked all the way till the next morning when i had to go for internship and the rest concussed on the bed. as agreed, what was said and done will be kept within those who were there.. really wished i didn't have internship the next day, bummer..
sigh.. i can't imagine uni life without you guys, i think i better concentrate on studying before i sink further into this dilemma...

Monday, 19 March 2007

2 days of MR500 has ended. How am I feeling now? I really don't know.. confused perhaps, and lost.
Speaking about canoeing first, i believe i've been pretty lucky for the heats to get myself into the finals. The outcome was quite expected and honestly I was quite satisfied with my performance based on the intensity (or rather the lack of it) of water trainings. From the thirst of gold when I first started canoeing, to the achieving of it, to the burnt out phase, to the numb.. i think it has gone through the whole cycle. what's going to happen next i really don't know. My aim for this MR was not to thrash everyone possible, to get as many medals as possible, but rather, for myself, it was to enjoy the sport, the race and not let myself down. I couldn't be bothered who are my competitors from the other schools and I didn't even think about any stupid mind games prior to the race. i wasn't feeling that nervous or stressed, i was still chewing my gum and enjoying the sun during the race. will i make a comeback for ncc? train like mad? i don't know...
Then about dragon boat, I must say that it's really a pity that we were so near yet so far from bringing home 66 gold medals, but we really rowed with our heart and soul, everyone, every stroke, every sweat. and of course there was the highlight of the day: men's open where all 5 boats were neck to neck for almost the entire 500m and it's really a matter of who has the greatest desire to put in every bit of strength left to pull the water, to scream the lungs out, for their team, for themselves, for the honour of the champions of MR500 2007. and so we did it, it was all in that last 20m. tears of joy, outburst of happiness, screams of euphoria. enough said. it was all shown on their faces. our dragon roared. another unforgettable moment..
Victory and handover dinner at Meridien Hotel followed. The food and ambience were pretty good and it was rather empty, or rather overpowered by our noise. It's the end of a chapter in canoeing again. From not wanting to come to ntu, to not even wanting to touch my paddle again, I have just made lots more scratches on my dearest paddle, even chopped off 4cm, and served 1 year as VC. Oh well, I must say there were good and bad times and what I enjoyed most was the company of the team. trainings aside, i really missed the pigging out sessions, the JB trips, the singing sessions recently, and the unforgettable sleepless farewell gifts making sessions last year. Uni life would be so boring without you guys!!
Right now i'm lost, no more trainings, study for exams??? NO I DON'T WANT TO STUDY!!!

what is wrong with me?
i left the house for school yesterday morning and realised i forgot to bring my wallet. by the time i went up to get it and came down again the shuttle bus was gone and i waited and waited for the public bus which only came at around 8.20!! and i didn't take the car pool cos my teacher has already emphasized more than once the importance of punctuality and how we're disturb his lessons if we go into class late one by one. and so, i bused, bused and cabbed and reached almost half an hour late!!
and i only got my phone back this morning because i forgetfully left it in jesper's room before lorrying down to mac to move boats.
i am so blur!!!
day 1 or MR is over, awaiting day 2 and buffet after that.. hmmm i wonder when's the next time i'll paddle and race again after tmr... will i???

Friday, 16 March 2007

am i seeing things or am i not (literally)? this morning when i was running as per normal, half blind without contacts in the dark, i saw this guy, in office wear, standing at the roadside flagging for a cab, and in the short 5 seconds that i saw him, 2 empty cabs with the blue lights on just went pass like that!!! do cab uncles not see him, or not wanting to make money early in the morning? or am i seeing things?? eeee.... best thing is i had to wrap up my morning incident by watching "the messenger" in the afternoon and taking a cab home from school after universe games.
and while i was wondering around jp this afternoon, i walked into this boutique shop looking at this ivory white dress and this friendly salesgirl came up to me and said (in chinese): "want to try it on? it'll look good on you, since you have meat, not like me, so skinny....." wah lao, i know i'm fat la, don't have to say it into my face right?
and i just had to be reminded twice today that exams are in a month's time!!! HELP!!!!!!
oh well, had my last training before MR500, and i wonder when's the next?? till then, i will carbo load and think about the race first!! leave the rest till next week!!

my WHOLE back is aching, every muscle that is possible to ache. i feel like a sixty-year-old clad in a twenty-year-old. from head to toe. my memory's failing, my back is aching, my knees, well, they are much better now thankfully. and i think now my stomach is taking revenge on me!!
ouch!!

Wednesday, 7 March 2007

i am the lousiest student! wasting my recess week enjoying myself, movies, ktv, birthdays, trainings, gym, basically everything except what i was suppose to be doing, until sunday night, when i reached home from work and started panicking! to the extent that i spilled one cartoon of coffee flavoured milk all over my bed and was sweating in my room and popping sour gummies into my mouth and chew and chew. i don't recall what exactly happened that night, and how little i slept in my chair, i only knew i left the house in a mess and my head totally empty. it felt terrible. couldn't squeeze anything out of my puny brains during the paper and i seriously almost dozed off in the middle of it.

and yesterday when the prof of the new module came in and wanted to start the lecture, just after the exam, i said quite loudly to myself, in chinese and in a chinese accent "but we just had our exam". it was loud enough for him to hear and stare at me. and i think he had been staring at me since the first lesson because i have been sleeping half of the time. the best thing is today he tried to clarify why he had to repeat himself so many times by saying "in case some of you all didn't catch what i said" (in chinese of course) AND HE WAS OBVIOUSLY LOOKING AT ME!!! bleah....

ok, enough rambling.. photo time..

decor and food at rang mahal at pan pac. the length of the menu list looked more difficult for the stomach to handle than the actual course itself.

that's the whole group behind the long dining table

the ladies...

and the gentlemen...

and everyone...

and a blurry photo taken with the camera phone, which is better than my lousy and dying camera.. bleah..

Cao Ge's voice is damn power!! went for my first campus concert today with my hard earned ticket from sitting in front of can a for an hour last week. but it was worth it. not that i am a big fan of him, but i must say that he's really good!! we got quite a good view by sitting on the steps, but in the centre of LKC lecture theatre. it was a full house!! the power of live performance! and there was drama when the emcee asked for volunteers to go up the stage and this guy just RAN and huddled up the stage before the emcee had a chance to select people!
surf and sweat photos!!!! we love the sun and the sea!!

lazy me was trying to pull out a tag from my new shirt this afternoon, i was trying to break open the plastic ring with my fingers and failed. only to notice blood on my fingers and a cut on my thumb and first finger. ouch! so much of my lazyness to walk a few steps to get the scissors.
but those cuts are covered with plasters now and there's something that hurts more... yes it really hurts...

First dragon boat training after a long long time never fail to make me ache and give me butt abrasion! I think every muscle on me is aching, especially my upper body, but it feels good, at least i know those muscles are still in existence. And i just did more dragon boating for sea ex recce, though it was a rather relaxed pace and intensity. And i finally fulfilled my to-do list of timing a 2.4km!! been wanting to do that for quite some time, but the stadium is always closed early in the mornings when i reach there. So today i decided to try my luck again at a slightly later time, and it was opened!! and so i shared the track with all the aunties walking and ran 6 boring rounds. the timing was surprisingly decent, still managed to sub 12 despite not doing speed or interval trainings and haven't ran more than 10km since stan chart. oh well, i really hope i can get my old aching body out of bed tmr morning.
sigh.. forgive me if i am in the 'leave me alone' mood, it's not that i'm sad or anything but just that there's so many things to do and so little time.. it is only when i finally sit down and reflect on what i've done that i realised i've neglected so many people who love me and are concerned about me. why can't i love myself a bit more and live up to expectations? 2 days ago my mom just told me 'we believe you're old enough to know what's good for you...' yes knowing is one thing, but doing it is another...
study la, please!!

Is it true that as we get older, the festive mood just decreases and look forward to holiday as rest days? Or is it just me? I think this chinese new year for me is just sleep sleep and sleep. I did no spring cleaning, no SHOPPING (?!?!?! yes i don't even believe this) and so on the first day of new year, I opened my wadrobe and panicked, cos I have no new clothes to wear!! no visiting yet, not much cny goodies at home for me to eat, other than a heavenly home-cooked dinner on new year's eve, there was not much new year mood at home. Times when I am not online means I'm either sleeping, out exercising, appearing offline or my dad is hogging the internet connection watching you.tube!!
Well, I did get a few angpows and I can't even be bothered opening them to see how much it contained, yes, that's how 'exciting' my cny is, at least I did get a good rest at home.. yawn..

Do i really have my emotions written on my face? or are you really so good at reading my mind? Quite busy recently, especially these two weeks, nite cyclling recce, steamboats, birthdays etc etc.. and believe it or not, I haven't done any shopping for chinese new year! and there's no need to mention spring cleaning..
And i can't stop thinking about what you told me, when ignorance is no longer bliss and only brings what nobody has imagined it could bring. Sigh, guess I'm really neglecting the people closest to me, I don't want to wait till everything's too late. enough said. trust no MAN!!
